About Me: David Steady, Colwen Hotels

I'm the Director of Corporate Catering for The Portsmouth Collection of Colwen Hotels in Portsmouth.  We own/manage the AC Hotel Portsmouth, Hampton Inn Downtown Portsmouth, Residence Inn Downtown Portsmouth, and The Venue at Portwalk Place. We also just opened up the Home2 Suites in Kittery.  I work with larger corporate groups for meeting planning from start to finish.

Why did you decide to join the Chamber?

Colwen Hotels have been members of the Chamber since opening our first hotel in 2006.  The Chamber is a great organization that promotes business and a great way to network with community leaders. 

What is a piece of advice you have for those new to the Chamber or to networking?

My advice would be to jump in head first, and don't be shy in meeting new people.  Our business community is very open and welcoming.  Take a chance and be bold! 

What is a connection you made through the Chamber that resulted in something further?

I've met many corporate clients who were in need of hotel room blocks, social events, and corporate meetings.  We've established great relationships and partnered on many years of event and hotel business.
