Learn to go from "fear to fun" at the first session of the Year of ConneXions Seminar Series set for 8-10 a.m., March 16 at the NH Community Technical College which is located on the Pease Tradeport. The seminar is underwritten by Federal Savings Bank and organized by the Chamber’s Business Development Committee.
The program, entitled Networking for ConneXions—Fear to Fun, will explore the myths about networking and present new ideas to improve a person’s networking skills and powerful methods to meet potential clients. Presenters include Debra Tuttle, business operations manager for Key Partners; and Mike Liston and Val Wilson, owners of Off the Wall Productions, regular contributors to the fun behind the scenes at the Today Show. Other topics will include a discussion of the Top 10 dos and don’ts of networking.
Tuttle networked to get her current position with Key Partners as the Business Manager. Prior to joining the agency eight years ago, she worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, EDS, and NCR Corporation. Throughout her career, Tuttle has not only grown and nurtured her network, she has also referred and worked her network helping others find jobs and explore careers. She is past-president of the Seacoast Human Resource Association, and is a member of the Seacoast Women's Network, Society for Human Resource Management, and the American Society for Training and Development.
Wilson and Liston have a unique “gift giving” approach that sheds new light on how to network and approach new clients. This comedic duo will share some of the techniques taught in their popular “P.U.” (Promotional University) Seminars held throughout New Hampshire. Founded in 1999, this husband and wife team have over 400 clients, some of which include; Southwest Airlines, University of New Hampshire, BAE Systems, Geno’s Coffee Shop, Coldwell Banker, etc. They brought their promotional products business to a national level by gaining exposure with the work they do for NBC’s Today Show.
Admission to the event is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. See below to register online or contact Maureen Arsenault, Chamber visitor center supervisor, at (603) 610-5513 or info@portsmouthchamber.org.
