NH Governor's Welcome
Dear Friend,
Welcome to the Great State of New Hampshire and our Seacoast, one of the most vibrant and sought after places in the country. At least according to the people at Money Magazine, AARP Magazine, CQ, and the researchers at Morgan Quinto--just to name a few.
While I am still new to the job, I can tell you New Hampshire is entering into one of the most exciting times in its history. As a business owner or new resident there are few places in the world where you can have it all--scenic beauty, the ocean, the mountains, the lakes, safe communities, no sales or income tax burdens, or traffic jams. In fact, businesses in the state are on the leading edge of the progressive national culture from work-from-home programs, flex time and other people-related initiatives, to high-tech and global trade. All made possible by our growing focus on the use of technology to increase efficiency, improve communication, and involve the citizens of this state in their future.
I'm proud to say the trend is even transforming our "Live Free or Die" state government into a place where people can be involved in their government 24 hours a day--an important issue in a place where more than 85 percent of the population are connected to the web and actively using that resource in their everyday lives.
Our quality of life and our people are second to none-we've recently been recognized as the "most livable" and continue to be one of the healthiest, safest and tax-free states in the union. I invite you be part of our future and encourage you to check out all the benefits we offer--whether you're contemplating moving your family or business to New Hampshire. You can find out more about our state by visiting www.state.nh.us.
For more on our Seacoast region, be sure to check out the award winning site at www.portsmouthchamber.org and keep this magazine as a handy reference.
We hope you will consider becoming a part of our family. And if you have any questions or issues I can help with, call (603) 271-2121 or email me at www.egov.nh.gov/governor/goveforms/comments.asp.
My door is always open.
