Getting Here

Less than an hour north of Boston, MA and an hour south of Portland, ME - Portsmouth, NH and the Seacoast are easily accessible and well worth the visit! With tax-free shopping, restaurants, art galleries, historic homes, and more you'll be ready to stretch your legs and discover why Portsmouth was named New Hampshire's Best Walking City and one of the top 100 most walkable cities in the nation.

If traveling by car, I-95 and US Route 1 provide convenient access from the south and north, and NH Route 101 provides access from the west.

If traveling by boat, navigate our waterways from the east. Marinas for docking are available in Portsmouth, New Castle, Newington and Hampton, NH as well as Kittery, ME.

If traveling by air, Logan International Airport in Boston (BOS) serves as the hub of New England. Once you arrive, hop on a C & J bus, with daily scheduled service departing nearly every hour. Or call ahead for a private coach, limousine or taxi (search under "Transportation" in our Chamber Business Directory for more information).

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is located 45 miles west of Portsmouth and offers a convenient schedule of non-stop and direct service from major US cities. Manchester also offers free bus service to and from Boston and Woburn, MA. (www.flymanchester.com)

The Portsmouth International Airport at Pease also provides general aviation services for private aircraft and charters.

For those traveling by train, Amtrak services are available from Boston and Portland to Exeter and Dover.
