Where to Eat
During Restaurant Week Portsmouth, or any time of year, the Seacoast is a culinary destination. In fact, TV Diner featured Portsmouth as a "Delicious Destination" in March 2009. Greater Portsmouth boasts hundreds of fine restaurants - from American cuisine to Italian to the freshest seafood around, from casual spots and breweries to upscale restaurants and intimate hideaways. Visit from April to October to experience waterfront dining overlooking the Piscataqua River and the trademark tugboats, or to relax at an outdoor café in Market Square for some people-watching. Visit in the winter months and cozy up to live music and New England comfort foods. Visit anytime of year for brewery tours, local bands and of course, the nightlife.
