Albacore Park

Explore the fastest submarine of her time, the USS Albacore. The 205-foot vessel, whose moto was "Praenuntius Futuri" (Forerunner of the Future), pioneered the teardrop design used by modern submarines and was used as a laboratory to test new control systems, dive brakes, sonar systems and hydrodynamics. Open May 1-Columbus Day.

Children's Museum of Portsmouth

A year-round arts and science museum featuring more than 19 hands-on exhibits, housed in a charming historic building. The museum is a place for kids of all ages to explore, create and experience the wonders of science, nature and art--right up close. Exhibit themes range from dinosaurs, space and lobstering, to music and sound, communications and world cultures. Air-conditioned and accessible for standard wheelchairs. Prescott Park Arts Festival
